Flat felting uses needle felting techniques with a piece of wool fabric as the base. This technique is used for wall hanging, pillows, purses and the like. Students will have a choice between two designs: a bird or a bunny. Beginners, as well as those with some experience in felting will learn how to build layers to add dimension to the piece, how to make the top coat look like fur and discuss how to finish the piece for use as a wall hanging, pillow, etc. All materials, including wool fabric base, patterns, roving, felting needles, foam, and instructions are included.
